- sodium bicarbonate = baking soda. Add to water. Does the job very well. It is cheap and fast, but doesn’t taste too good. It is strong and better than tums or Antacid. Stay away from rich foods, eat plenty of veggies (fiber), and cut back on salad dressings.

Actually, what I did was eat smaller meals more often. I also make a point to drink lots of water throughout the day. I don’t know how helpful this is since you are getting medical attention, but I thought I would tell you what worked for me.

It means that she is so full that she is getting heartburn when she eats. Tell her not to eat spicy or greasy foods. I don’t know about the hair thing, but I’m sure it isn’t related to heartburn.

I get heartburn easily too. Eat smaller meals, and eat less spicey or fried foods. Take soda (carbonated water, not Coke or Pepsi) with your meal.
Keep a box of acid-relief tablets in your car in case your need them after dining out.
